The Confirmation Service was a joyous occasion

It was a joyous occasion on Saturday night when we welcomed Bishop Rob Martin to confirm twenty candidates (pupils) from the School...

These twenty boys and girls from the 4th Form to the U6th Form have made a significant decision in their lives - seeking to trust in Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. It was great to hear them affirm their beliefs, as outlined in the Apostle’s Creed and to commit to making their baptism vows their own. Speaking of baptism, it was also a delight to see one of the candidates choose to be baptised.

There are many folk to thank. In particular, my thanks to Mr Marshfield for his superb organ playing and all the work he put into preparing the Chapel Choir for their anthem. Indeed, the Chapel Choir sang beautifully ‘Teach me, O Lord’ by Peter Moger - we are most grateful. My thanks must also go to Mrs Wilson-Brown for all her help with meeting and greeting parents/friends/family/godparents of the candidates and being a superb usher. Lastly, my thanks go to the Headmaster for supporting the event and helping ensure we could carry out the service in a COVID secure manner.

Above all, my assurances of my congratulations and prayers for the candidates. Indeed, it is my hope and prayer that as the Bishop encouraged them, they would be those who rejoice all the more in the faith they have and go out into the world sharing the good news of the Gospel and seeking to transform the world by helping those in greatest need.
