A while back the international Committee promised to do an Assembly for Monday 30th November. Easy enough. There was loads of time to prepare. At least so it seemed.
It is quite a big deal to speak in public if you are not a first language speaker but Pepa, Johnny, Bekhruz and Fine all chipped in and recorded interesting contributions about their own countries and experiences. Fine even got her family involved over half term, and so provided a challenge for the MFL German learners!
The idea was for a morning radio programme with the King’s international pupils bringing the world to Bruton. But a radio programme needs presenters. Our courageous and articulate 5th Form pupils, Karoline and Cosima stepped up to the challenge, and, during an afternoon of laughter, cartwheels, bloopers and hilarity in the Recital Hall, it was the expertise and oh-so-patient technical work of Mr Tupman, our Recording Suite Manager, which enabled the Assembly to finally be filmed.
The result: a fun recording, with a few general knowledge questions thrown in. Many thanks and Commendations to all involved. Not sure how, but Bek’s final words somehow got cut out of his piece. They were ‘.. stay safe!’
