Drama and Theatre Educational Trips

On Thursday 13th January the U6th Form A Level English Literature pupils enjoyed a snowy day in London’s West End to see Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the novel, the pupils were keen to see how it might be adapted for the stage. Thankfully, the stage version is faithful to the original text, at least for the most part, so enabling a thorough revision and fuller exploration. The Kite Runner, on the page and on stage, is an emotionally fraught experience, but outstanding performances and deft staging made for a rewarding and enriching afternoon. The trip was a great success, providing pupils with an excellent opportunity to further consider the novel they have enjoyed studying so much.
