3rd Form pupils had an amazing time team building at the Mill on the Brue...
Blessed with a warm sunny afternoon, our 3rd Form pupils enjoyed a Sunday afternoon at Mill on the Brue, an experience that was not short of strategy, teamwork and physical challenges. The pupils, in groups, faced a varied, and at times muddy, assault course in the woods, taking in turns to carry a huge log with them. Not an easy task! Others climbed the high ropes or the climbing tower with a bungee jump descent, and a ‘crossing-the-river’ challenge wound up the afternoon. This last challenge really tested teamwork, raising A-frames and organising a system of ropes. Although a few got quite wet and a couple of pupils opted to wade out to assist their teammates, the amazing Mill on the Brue instructors ensured that everyone had a go. With friendly saddle-back pigs and a donkey to pet during the rest break, a wonderful outdoor afternoon was had by all.

Here are some of the pupils’ comments:
- It was a really fun day, which encouraged team building in the activity of crossing the river using A-frame and ropes.
- The assault course was tough, especially carrying the log over without touching the ground, it was difficult, but we succeeded.
- The day was enjoyable and the climbing wall was fun.
- My favourite part of the day was falling head first into the water.
- It was great fun to meet all the animals especially the donkey.
Thank you to Ms Checketts, Rev'd Beverly, Ms King and Madame Webb for taking the trip to Mill on the Brue, and for providing a fantastic day for the 3rd Form pupils. It was great to see them working together and having a lot of fun.
