This Christmas Term we are continuing to raise money for Guide Dogs and our local Yeovil Breast Cancer Unit Appeal.
We have already sent cheques for over a £1,000 for the Yeovil Breast Cancer Unit Appeal and over £2,000 for the Guide Dogs. Having had another mufti day, with pupils paying to wear their own clothes, we have raised another £350. This will contribute towards us naming a new puppy, helping provide training for a person with sight loss and more resources for the Yeovil Breast Cancer Unit.
A New Charity for King's Pupils to Support
In January, we are raising money for ‘School in a Bag’. This is an initiative that delivers rucksacks full of stationary, learning resources and eating utensils to poor, orphaned, vulnerable and disaster affected children around the world. Each rucksack costs only £20. We can also receive photos of the new owners of these school bags.
We have chosen this charity because:
- It is local and the money we raise goes directly to the children.
- The bags offer hope to children who desperately need an education and brighter future.
- We aim for each pupil at King’s to think beyond themselves and help others who are less fortunate. We hope that each King’s pupil will raise £20 so we are able to send 350 school bags to a war torn part of the world.
