Inter-House Debating Competition Semi-Final: This House believes that the USA should ban private gun ownership.
New House vs Arion House
This debate had the quality, research, skill and eloquence of a Final. All debaters spoke with passion and backed this passion up with convincing arguments and impressive research. The tactical use of rebuttal and points of information was excellent by both teams. The two Third Formers, Jonty and Felicity, debated with a confidence that belied their age, while Eleanor's tactical battle with Seb and James should mean that she could well be an unbeatable debater in her 6th Form. James and Seb debated with the experience of skilled Upper 6th Formers, while Abi concluded the debate impressively. It was a very difficult debate to adjudicate given the high quality of both teams. New House won by 1 mark, but Arion should hold their heads very high.
