King's supporting male physical and mental health...

King’s is supporting International Men’s Day on Friday 19th November. Several senior pupils are walking or running 60km, through the Movember Foundation, during the month of November to reflect on the 60 men who commit suicide every hour around the world. To recognise International Men’s Day this year, we thought it significant to highlight men’s health, specifically testicular awareness.

It was, therefore, fantastic to welcome George Hobbs to King’s to give a talk on testicular awareness to our senior pupils. George is an ambassador for the Oddballs Foundation. George encouraged ‘Fumble Friday’ for boys to check for changes every week, but if not, to check themselves in a warm bath or shower every month.

George delivered a captivating and informative talk, important for all senior pupils to hear. As an ex-pupil at Downside, George regularly played our 1st XV at rugby and still remembers details of the matches and names of the opposition. It was wonderful to invite him back, in a less competitive environment, to educate our senior pupils.
