The Friends of King's Bruton were pleased to have recently held their second successful ‘Zoom’ meeting this year, one important item on the agenda being to discuss bids received!

With funds raised at various events, generously supported by parents and staff, we were able to agree many exciting, useful and luxury purchases for Houses and Departments, particularly important at this difficult and challenging time.

  • Recycled plastic picnic benches were agreed for Lyon and Blackford
  • A fire pit for Wellesley together with a television for the newly created Junior Common room to allow for different group ‘bubbles’
  • A photo canvas, badminton set and assorted board games for Priory
  • A portable speaker for Old
  • New House are saving their bid for next time when they hope to refurbish a new common room
  • The Learning Support Department were successful in their bid to purchase four high back beanbag chairs to encourage reading
  • The BTEC Department are looking forward to six replacement wider work surfaces (creating the much needed extra room)
  • The Sixth Form Club will be receiving a Wireless Broadcast Unit Transmitter
  • The Climbing Club are looking forward to receiving new helmets and harnesses
  • The Yoga Group were delighted to be given yoga blocks. They can be used as an extension of the arms but can support the back, head and hips to help the body settle into a pose
  • The webcams donated to the Science and BTEC Departments came into their own during remote learning
  • The Sixth Form Centre received some new, bright and cheerful mugs
