On Sunday the 23rd September, Lyon House welcomed over 170 members of the School and local community on site for the annual Lyon House Charity Mixed Hockey Festival.
With outstanding support from the School and also from the town via Bruton Hockey Club, plus the local area with Buckhorn Weston Hockey Club, the festival had fourteen teams at registration. After a wonderful afternoon of hockey, the festival was won by the "1st XI Gnocci" winning via the system of “crossbar challenge” after they drew the final against "Buckhorn Weston A”.
The Lyon boys did themselves proud with the U6th Form Pizza Oven team cooking over 60 pizzas in the afternoon to Ivo’s pizza baking playlist and generating a significant sum to our overall total! As of Sunday night with still some donations to come in, Lyon had raised £1232.47 for the school charity (Papyrus) and the festival itself now in its third year has raised more than £5000 for good causes. Some tweets containing photos & videos from the afternoon can be seen below.
