The Duke of Edinburgh's Award walking and cycling expeditions on Exmoor this weekend have, despite very wet and windy weather, been a huge success.
For all the groups, it rained almost continuously, meaning that the challenge became all the more difficult. Most pupils managed to complete their two day routes, and have done so showing great fitness, resilience and team work. Those who completed should feel immensely proud of their achievements, and look forward to what should be a much warmer, and hopefully drier qualifying expedition in June for the 5th Form (Silver Award) and July for the L6th Form (Gold Award). A huge "thank you" to the staff who made the trips such a success: Miss Swindall, Dr Kirk, Mr Walker, Mrs Phippard, Mr Cupit, Miss Flavell, Dr Corrigan and those from outside of school who offered their time. An album from the weekend can be viewed below.
