A fantastic Inter-House Music Festival...
On Tuesday afternoon, it was wonderful to be able to hold the Inter-House Music Festival in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall. The sense of excitement was palpable and it was great to have an enthusiastic audience of performers and staff to support, whilst parents, friends and family joined online and pupils watched a livestream from House Common Rooms. We were very fortunate to be able to welcome Mrs Nicki Sclater, Director of Music at Hazlegrove, to adjudicate.
As ever, the standard was high from start to finish. It never ceases to amaze by the level of creativity and effort that goes into producing high-quality House Ensemble performances. Most importantly, this part of the competition is entirely pupil-led which makes it all the more impressive. The pupils were relieved and excited to be able to have the Music Festival take place, as it is an important part of the School calendar. It was a shame that Round 3 - the House Song - could not take place this year, but nevertheless, it was a hugely enjoyable and rewarding afternoon which celebrated the diversity of musical talent here at King’s Bruton.
Congratulations to Arion House who won the Music Festival overall. Well done to all who took part and my thanks to Mrs Sclater for taking the time to come and adjudicate.
