Sixth Form Drama and Theatre pupils were overwhelmed by the performance of 'Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs)' on Saturday evening at the Oxford Playhouse.
Well worth the trip to Oxford, the performance was a startling, exciting, highly creative and entertaining re-working of 'The Beggar’s Opera' by John Gay, written in 1728. Ingeniously Kneehigh Theatre highlighted prescient themes, so creating a highly relevant, contemporary piece of theatre. For our students, this was a masterclass in what theatre can achieve, inspiring them to even greater goals in their own work and providing them with first class material for impending examination papers.
