A fantastic trip to Wimbledon for some of our young tennis players...
On a rainy day that didn’t dampen our spirits, eight pupils and two members of staff enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Wimbledon. Despite the wet weather, the excitement and atmosphere of the world-famous tennis tournament kept everyone in high spirits. We had the privilege of watching a couple of live matches, with one standing out as the highlight of the day. The fiercely competitive match between Russia’s Andrey Rublev and Argentina’s Francisco Comesana had everyone on the edge of their seats. The skill and intensity displayed by both players were a true testament to the talent on show at Wimbledon. After a thrilling contest, it was Comesana who emerged victorious, much to the amazement of our group. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and the trip left us all with lasting memories of an incredible day out at one of the world’s greatest sporting events.

This was an all-round memorable experience, with the excitement and buzz all-around the Wimbledon grounds. There were cheers and groans reverberating from the multitude of matches taking place on the surrounding courts, it was nothing like the watching from your own living room! It was great to get a first-hand feel for the level of the tennis at courtside along with the mood of the crowd. We hope to be able to make this a yearly fixture depending on the luck of the draw, as this was a thoroughly worthwhile day out for our talented tennis stars coming through the ranks here at King’s.
