King's Bruton pupils have been busy with Community Service this term...

Community Service got off to the flying start this term with all pupils back in placements; except for those linked to Sexey’s Hospital; which was locked down for January. We were especially pleased to be able to send 3 pupils to Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in Wincanton, who we were not able to visit at all last term. The 3 girls on that placement have really enjoyed reading to and playing with the Year 2 and Year 3 pupils, who by the sounds of it, are really enjoying having time with these girls too. Other local schools have also opened up to visitors since the start of term. Our Pupils have enjoyed picking up on friendships made there and also those serving at Mill on the Brue and with local Bruton elderly residents. February has brought a return to the Church Bridge Stores shopping run for Sexey’s Hospital and working with the gardener Ben in the grounds.

We are looking forward to even brighter and warmer days for outside placements after half term and completing the last stretch of time, before Community Services stops for the summer term.
