Last Friday, we held a Staff v Pupils Chess Match under Covid-19 secure controls. Players wore masks and were separated by screens.
As we have just had Mental Health Awareness Week, it is worth noting that chess is a game that brings many mental health benefits to players.
Staff: Mr Beverley, Mr Brice, Mr Harkness, Dr Kewell, Mr Lovell, Mr Owens, Mr Parks, Mr Stainton.
Pupils: Jack, Rory, Max, Tyler, Rowan, Finlay, Sandy, Caspar.
Staff won 19 games.
Pupils won 9 games.
Staff best performance: Mr Stainton with 4 wins out of 4 games.
Pupil best performances: Jack and Finlay with 2 wins out of 3 games.
Well done to all who took part.

A good exercise in humility for me yesterday: I was beaten at chess by Tyler from @KSBNewHouse & Jack from @KSBBlackfordHse. I'm sure there's a sermon illustration in that somewhere... #KSBSummerTerm @KingsBruton pic.twitter.com/H0T8ke5Tlc
