On Monday morning, Arion and Blackford Houses went head to head to start off the new debating season.

These two houses met each other in the final last year so this clash was eagerly awaited. The debate was entitled  “This house believes we have the right to be forgotten”.

Arion opposed the motion through Hannah, Amelia and Coco, whilst Blackford proposed through Bertie, Hector and Toby. Given that this was the first round, the debating was of a high quality and the unenviable task of adjudicating between the teams fell to Mr Erikson and Mr Beverly. In the end they decided that Blackford House were the winners in this closely fought contest.

Both sides deserve great credit for the manner in which they debated this topic.
