A welcome return to the UCAS Creative Future London 2023 event with our A Level pupils...

On Monday 2^nd October, we hit the road with our A Level Music Technology and Art pupils, as we travelled to the Excel Exhibition Centre. The aim was to explore career pathways with a host of universities promoting creative courses, apprenticeships, and careers - all in one place!

Accompanied by Mr Cole (Art Teacher) and Mr Higgs (Head of Music Technology) we embraced the opportunity to explore a range of courses and potential career pathways on offer with university representatives from all corners of the UK. It was a great chance to converse with tutors, technicians, and current students to encourage pupils to begin to plan their next steps. There was plenty on offer including talks, live workshops, and musical performances at the busking corner. Whilst on the main stage there were Q&A’s, including lectures, sharing insights, and preparing students for interviews, writing portfolios, and spotlighting career opportunities.

All in all, this was fabulous opportunity for our pupils to narrow down their potential further education options as we anticipate pupils to make the next step towards reaching out and potentially planning visits to their top university with future open days on the horizon.

On Monday 2^nd October we went to the UCAS Creative Careers event. It was helpful to gain an insight into a variety of courses available at many different universities. Form this experience, I was able to meet tutors and students from a variety of locations around the country. I am particularly interested in Textiles Design courses and my next point of call will be UAL as I look to find out more about forthcoming opening days.
