This does not guarantee a place at King’s Bruton, but it does move the process on to the next stage. The School’s Bank Details can be found on the Registration Form. If you have not visited the School at the point of registration you will need to contact the Registrar to book a visit.

After Registration

Once registered, and prior to your child’s expected entry to King’s Bruton, the School will request a report from your child’s current school, to include predicted results in their public exams (such as Common Entrance for Year 9 entry or GCSEs for Year 11 entry). This report will form part of the process for making a formal offer of a place. Applicants for entry outside of these years do not usually sit exams and offers are based on school reports and an informal interview with the Headmaster.

Formal Acceptance

Formal offers are made in writing based on school reports and an informal interview/meeting with the Headmaster. We ask you to complete the Parent/School Contract (Acceptance Form) and pay the £1000* deposit, at the very latest, by 1st October of the year prior to your son/daughter joining. This then guarantees your child a place at King’s the following academic year. Where a conditional offer is made (in the case of a Year 12/L6 entry, the offer would be based on GCSE results), those conditions must be met before the place is finally guaranteed.

*An additional deposit is payable by parents whose normal residence is outside the EU

    House Allocation

House allocation is ultimately the decision of the Headmaster, but please be aware that occasionally some Houses fill faster than others, and therefore, early commitment/acceptance is advisable.
