Congratulations to Jemima who has been offered a place to study Acting at RADA...
Whilst in 6th Form, Jemima has taken on the roles of Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible and Catherine of Aragon in SIX: The Musical, two highly contrasting roles, but both to huge success and enjoyment of the audiences. During the U6th Form, whilst applying to university via UCAS, she has been auditioning for several drama and theatre schools, most notably Bristol Old Vic and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Earlier this week, I was extremely proud and overjoyed for Jemima to hear that she has been offered a place to study Acting at RADA this September. Huge, huge congratulations, and I very much look forward to coming up to see your productions!

Jemima outlines the application process and her experience below.
I firstly filmed my audition tape, where I performed one contemporary monologue and two classical monologues. In all honesty, when beginning the process, I was in it for the experience more than anything, practicing what to expect from a rigorous audition process, I was not too focused on what the result could be. Then I got a call back to attend an audition day at the institution. It was one of the most inspiring experiences I've ever had - I felt that I got an authentic insight into the industry and what to expect. It was a long day - 9 to 5 - and consisted of analysing Shakespeare sonnets, performing, and reworking our classical monologues and an interview. I met some incredible people, the other auditionees who came from a wide range of background and ages, as well as the coaches who have years of experience in acting, directing, and teaching at RADA. I left the audition grateful for such an incredible experience, regardless of the result. A month later, I was called and offered a place on the Foundation Course in Acting which starts in September. The whole process was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to start in September.
