Friday 5th November, saw the annual Woodwind Concert take place in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall in The Queen Elizabeth Music School.
There were many excellent solo performances, punctuated by ensembles including the Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone Ensembles.
The Flute Ensemble opened the Concert with an atmospheric performance of Oblivion by Piazzolla. The Clarinet Ensemble performed towards the middle of the Concert, and the Saxophone Ensemble played Cantaloupe Island by Hancock which provided a fitting close to the Concert. All the soloists were outstanding, and there are too many to single out as they all deserve huge credit for their achievements, not least as for some it was the first time they had performed in public.
Well done and congratulations to all involved!
