On Friday 26th April the Chapel Choir travelled to Exeter Cathedral to sing a service of Choral Evensong.
It was the first time the Chapel Choir have performed at Exeter. The building, acoustic and organ were delightful and the Chapel Choir, though numerically slightly depleted, performed well. The setting was somewhat more intimate than last term at St Paul’s Cathedral! The Chapel Choir worked hard and in particular the balance of the quieter ensemble singing was excellent.
There was an appreciative congregation of over 40 people with a mix of parents, regular worshippers and tourists. The service included a performance of the King’s 500th commissioned work 'King of glory, King of peace' by Alexander L’Estrange. Particular mention and thanks go to Joseph L who acted as Cantor for the service. It is not an easy task and it forms an important element of the liturgy. Joseph performed with poise and accuracy and was most impressive.
Well done to all involved!
