Congratulations to Marcus from King’s incredibly talented Grounds Department Staff who has been placed in the top three for the land based business and sports turf course which he has just completed.
The Level 3 Sports Turf Course has taken Marcus nearly two years to complete and is the highest grade that the college he has been attending offers. The course involved Marcus having to be more hands on when it came to jobs the King’s Grounds Team have to carry out. Marcus headed up ordering materials from suppliers and instructing colleagues on the various jobs they have to do. Filled with a sense of achievement, Marcus now aims to try the higher Level 4 course to further progress his career.
In recognition of all that Marcus has achieved, on Wednesday evening he was selected out of over 800 apprentices to attend an awards ceremony to celebrate his and other apprentices’ hard work. Marcus is thrilled to have been placed in the top three for the land based business and sports turf course. In Marcus’ own words, “I didn’t win, but everyone was a winner on the night!”
Adie Davis, Head Groundsman, applauded Marcus’ achievement, saying “Marcus has worked incredibly hard to be placed in the top three. I couldn’t be prouder to have such gifted and dedicated individuals making up the fantastic team we have at King’s. Their attention to detail and hard work is what lies behind the first-rate pitches we produce at King’s for the scores of talented pupils at the School.”
