On Thursday to celebrate Antarctica Day and the signing of the Antarctic Treaty on 1st December 1959 King's pupils spoke live to a UK Research Scientist in Antarctica. The 3rd Form pupils asked interesting and well thought out questions to a the scientist, Alison Massey (British Antarctic Survey), who lives and works in Antarctica. The pupils learnt about the different research that is currently taking place in Antarctica, as well as the food they eat and what animals the scientists have encountered whilst living there. As well as phoning Antarctica, there was a quiz sent out to houses for all the 3rd Form to complete. Overall, it was a brilliant experience for all the pupils and I would like to thank the 3rd Form for taking part in the day.
