It has been a really busy couple of months for the Grounds team at King's...
Weather, staff shortages and covid have hampered the team, but we have successfully managed to get the grounds ready for the Summer term. Rugby certainly took its toll, but after scarifying, overseeding, top dressing and fertilizing we have regained some grass coverage ready for the cricket season. We have added a small cricket square on Farr Field, as girls' cricket grows in popularity. Abbey Field has had new nets, Hyde new batting screens along with extra practice areas. Nine tennis courts have been marked onto Tyndalls' Astro with all nets moved on with dividing nets, and the athletics track and throwing areas have all been marked in. On the garden front, we have added some wildflower turf areas, as part of the School’s rewilding project. Some lawns have had some renovation work done, and to finish off some essential tree work. The team have worked so hard, and I am really proud of them all. King's Bruton is really looking great.
