Stratford-upon-Avon continues to be one of the best places in the world to learn about Shakespeare, with so many opportunities to learn about his work and about the man himself.
It was great to take so many of the 4th Form to experience this on Thursday and Friday last week. Highlights included seeing the wonderful objects belonging to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust houses and being able to stand in the room where Shakespeare was born, a highly-acclaimed production of ‘Antony & Cleopatra’ at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and an excellent workshop with an RSC actor on our GCSE text ‘Henry V’. Seeing pupils become more confident with speaking Shakespeare’s words was brilliant. Pupils have certainly returned with a better understanding of who Shakespeare was, and of how his plays are performed today. An album of photos from the trip can be seen below.
