Our Grounds Team have been busy over the summer holidays...

Over the summer the team have worked incredibly hard, hosting Somerset Cricket Club in various age groups, including the Boys' Academy Team, a real honour for us to host and prepare pitches. We have also renovated both winter pitches on Farr field, scarifying in three directions, over-seeding and top dressing. Raking out of the surface on Abbey and koroing off the cricket square to remove the thatch build up. The usual renovation of the main cricket square and grass net block, we are now back cutting these.

The weather as always has been unpredictable, wet, windy, scorching, we have had it all. We are already up on last year's rainfall, which was as bad as we can remember. We hope this autumn is a dry one. On the gardens front, there has been lots of renovation on the lawns and tidying up in borders. Some planters have been added to the rear of The Queen Elizabeth Music School. This is all done alongside helping on the grounds. As always, I would like to say a big thank you to my team: Marcus, James and Sam, for working tirelessly, including weekends to keep the King's grounds in great shape.
