Drama and Theatre Performance

Later this week, King's Bruton presents, The Crucible. Pupils Tia and Aurelien have filmed and made a trailer...

Producer, Director and Editor: Tia - L6th Form - Priory House
Camera: Aurelien - 4th Form - Lyon House

The inspiration to make the trailer came from seeing the amount of thought and planning everyone had put into the production at its early stage. Then, when rehearsals began it was inspiring to see the sheer passion and work of everyone involved. Aurelien and I went into rehearsals and workshops and collected footage throughout the production process. We were able to see how the play was developing, with all the highs and lows. As you can imagine, it is not an easy time to be putting on a play! The trailer soon became a way for us to show some of this production and rehearsal process to the School Community. We wanted them to know how fired up the actors and the directors are to be back in the theatre. I have no doubt that the play itself will exceed expectations. The final editing process of the film was a challenge because we had so much great footage, but I learned some new tricks and skills in the process. We hope this short film trailer will help to create some excitement around the play itself once everyone gets to see it.
