King’s Bruton is pleased to announce that work has commenced on the building of its new Music School as part of the School’s 500th Anniversary celebrations in 2019.

On Monday 3rd July the Headmaster, Ian Wilmshurst and Bursar, Louis Tuson were pleased to formally handover the site to Phillip Hammond, Managing Director of A Hammond & Sons Ltd, the appointed prime contractor for the project.

Work commenced immediately after Prize Giving with the old changing rooms, fives courts and boundary walls being demolished.” The Headmaster, Ian Wilmshurst (pictured, right in photo above) added “this moment in the project marks the culmination of a lot of work and support from the School community, scores of Old Brutonians, along with numerous contractors and professionals. Everyone at King’s is thrilled to see the building work underway.” Phillip Hammond, Managing Director of A Hammond & Sons Ltd, (pictured, left in photo above) commented “building the new Music School promises to be an exciting project for us. Constructing something so impressive for a School’s 500th Anniversary is a unique opportunity not to be missed.”
