A super duper Arion charity fancy dress netball tournament...

On Sunday, we  held our Annual Arion Charity Netball event, and in the words of the Headmaster, it was the best one yet! We had 11 teams enter, including a staff team and a fantastic Arion parents team, who all entered into the spirit of the afternoon. The overall fancy dress stepped up to a whole new level this year, and you need to see the pictures to appreciate it! From the Lyon House Sharks (who struggled to see the ball) to the toilet, the pineapple and the family from the team of the term! We had it all and this just added to the wonderful atmosphere.

The afternoon saw a huge round robin in their two pools and then the Pink Ladies, the Lyon House Shark Tank, the Superstars (staff) and the New House Bing Chillings went through to the semi finals. Then to finish off the afternoon the New House boys were just beaten in a closely fought final against the Staff 4-3, although we gave the New House boys the winning prize because I felt as though the staff team made an illegal substitution for the final! The best dressed prize was shared between the Sharks and the TOTT, with Bunday’s junior boys also being recognised for their brilliant effort!

All in all a brilliant afternoon, full of fun, netball, great team spirit showing what Sunday boarding life is all about. We also managed to raise an enormous £350 for our school charity, Beat, with the Arion girls running various food stalls including crêpes, homemade cakes and a BBQ. It was a huge team effort and I would like to thank all the Arion girls and tutors for their help in making it such a huge success.
