The DT & Physics Engineering Challenge Day was bridgetastic...
Thursday 1st February saw 40 of our 5th and 6th Form Physics and D&T pupils taking part in our annual Engineering Challenge. Groups were tasked with designing and building a model bridge to span a gap of 1.5 metres. Their bridge was then tested to determine the load it could hold from its mid-point. Designs were varied and innovative and all the pupils involved should be congratulated for their team work and imagination.
After testing, the winning teams were as follows:
5th Form Competition - Team 1 - Robert, Jacob, Sid, Abi and Tommy with a load of 3kg on a bridge of mass 763g.
6th Form Competition - Team 3 - Toby, Dan, James and Niko with a load of over 10kg on a bridge of mass 1.6kg.
Well done to all involved!
