L6th Form BTEC Hospitality pupils visited the London campus of Glion...
Watch a video of the trip filmed by the pupils.
On Wednesday 17th May, the L6th Form BTEC Hospitality pupils had an early start to visit the London campus of Glion which is situated next to the University of Roehampton and shares facilities.
Glion/Les Roches is the top provider of ‘Swiss Hospitality’ education in the world, and their Batchelor and Master’s courses are second to none, with links to major Hospitality businesses including The Savoy, The Dorchester, Rosewood etc. Pupils experienced a tailor-made day to explore different routes into Hospitality, including the luxury market, events and real estate.
Ambassadors of Glion, who are current pupils, gave a fantastic tour of the campus and explained further about Internships at their linked campuses in Switzerland and Marbella. Opportunities for work experience are global and extensive. They also run taster summer camps
Our King’s pupils were also fully immersed in a classroom experience and contributed to an activity about transformation of an existing building into a business model. Although intimidating at first, they were encouraged to speak up and contribute to group tasks, which they did brilliantly. To the pupils’ credit, the University also commented on their professional and smart appearance.
I am super proud of the way pupils conducted themselves on the trip and engaged in all discussions and tasks. It was worth the long journey into London and the 6am start!
