A follow up on our Guide Dog sponsorship 2021-2...
We are absolutely delighted to introduce the little puppy we raised funds for, who is just starting his Guide Dog training.
We put forward various names, including Ian (after our Headmaster), but it was Basil which was chosen.

A letter from Guide Dogs for the Blind Association:
Please join me in welcoming Basil into the world and onto the Guide Dogs training scheme. He was born and named at your request on the 26 October 2022, and will soon be placed with his Puppy Walker, who will start to teach him the skills that he will need as a future guide dog. In recognition of your generous support, I’m delighted to enclose a naming certificate and a photograph of Basil at between six and eight weeks old – I’m sure you’ll agree he is adorable.
This is the beginning of a very exciting journey for Basil. For now, he is an uncoordinated bundle of fluff, but over the next few weeks and months we look forward to sharing the beginnings of his transformation into a responsible guide dog with you. We also look forward to sending you your first ‘pupdate’ when Basil is around 12 weeks old.
Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well. We rely on donations to continue our life-changing work. Every pound raised makes a difference to people in the UK living with sight loss.
