On Monday evening, the Spring Concert took place in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall...
It was a momentous occasion in that it was our first full audience since 13th March 2020! The Concert opened with the Orchestra performing Dance of the House, arr. Meyer, followed by a movement from the opera La Wally, Ebben? Ne andro lontana, with Lily as the soloist, who gave a very moving performance. The rest of the Concert featured performances from various ensembles large and small including: Military Band, Junior Wind Quintet, The Groove Ensemble, Trumpet Consort, School Choir, String Ensemble, Brass Group, Chapel Choir, Piano Trio, Girls’ Chamber Choir, Flute Ensemble, Chamber Choir and Big Band. There were many highlights during the evening, and all the pupils performed brilliantly. It was wonderful for them to have an appreciative live audience as well as over 180 people joining the livestream. The Concert was followed by convivial refreshments provided by some of the Sixth Form BTEC Hospitality pupils.
Well done to all involved on an outstanding evening of music at King’s!
