The King's Bruton School in a Bag Ukraine Crisis Appeal
King's Bruton has decided to increase our support for our chosen charity, ‘School in a Bag,’ as they are now sending educational and hygiene supplies directly to the refugee children of Ukraine. Yesterday morning, I gave an Assembly at King’s Bruton, appealing for more help for our brothers and sisters fleeing the fighting; below is a summary of the main points of this urgent appeal.
- The majority of refugees are fleeing their country with what they can carry.
- They are understandably scared, and in need of basic practical help.
- We have the power to bring a semblance of normality to the children's disrupted lives by ensuring they have basic equipment to continue their education.
- Each rucksack of educational and hygiene supplies costs £20 to fill, pack and deliver - every bag is traceable to its recipient.
Mr Luke Simon, founder of School in a Bag, will come to talk to us, at King’s Bruton, next Wednesday 16th March: we want to show him what we are already doing to raise awareness and vital funds. I have asked the pupils of King’s Bruton to evoke the spirit of our charitable foundation and be creative and generous, in response to this wicked humanitarian crisis; I know our King's community will support this worthy appeal.
I thank you, in anticipation, for your generosity. You can make an online donation by filling out the form below.
