Over the past month all the BTEC Hospitality pupils have been lucky enough to have visits to The Newt in Somerset.
We are so fortunate to have such an amazing hotel and gardens just down the road from King’s and to be building a great relationship with the staff at The Newt. The L6th Form pupils aimed their visits at finding out lots of information about the ethos of this new hotel, their customer service and staff training. We had extensive tours of the hotel, spa and gardens and everyone was thrilled to learn that between visits The Newt was awarded the best new luxury hotel in the world!
The U6th Form pupils were lucky enough to also have guided tours of this very special and unique hotel, but the main purpose of their visit was to look at the Cyder production for their Alcoholic Beverage unit. They were treated to a talk about the Cyder production and tasting of The Newt Cyder along with some exciting new products that they hope to launch in the summer.
We are all so very grateful to Andrew, the Hotel General Manager, and staff for their valuable time to host our visits, their enthusiasm towards this outstanding new business and to giving us all an insight into their careers.
