On Sunday 1st December, the Friends of King’s held their annual Christmas Fair.
Described as ‘the best on the circuit’ by one of the stallholders, this year we had over sixty stalls selling coats to candles, pots to paintings and much much more. The raffle was yet again, a huge success and raised well in excess of £1,000, in no small part, down to the salesmanship and smooth talking of the Blackford boys.
My huge thanks to the Friends Committee and other parents and staff who once again selflessly gave up their time to ensure that the fair ran smoothly and was the success that we hoped for. Over £4,000 in total was raised, which will be split between the Friends of King’s and the two charities that the School is supporting this year, namely Guide Dogs and The Yeovil Hospital Breast Cancer Unit Appeal.
Thank you to all the parents who generously donated to the wonderful hampers, to all those who joined us on the day, to Bruton Choral Society for the wonderful carol singing and to Blackford House for all the carrying, parking and clearing up duties that they so willingly performed. All in all a great start to Christmas.
