Friday 15th November, saw the annual Woodwind Concert take place in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall.
There were many excellent solo performances punctuated by ensembles, including the Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone Ensembles and also a great performance of 'Lo! Here the gentle Lark' by Henry Bishop, given by Holly (Flute) and Amelia (soprano).
The Clarinet Ensemble opened the Concert with a performance of a fun arrangement of 'Three Blind Mice' by Mills & Bates. The Flute Ensemble performed in the middle of the Concert and it was lovely to see so many flautists in the Flute Ensemble, the tone quality was excellent. All the soloists were outstanding and there are too many to single out as they all deserve huge credit for their achievements. However, the Saxophone Ensemble finished the Concert with a performance of 'Back Beat Boogie' by Gumbley which made a very fitting end to a superb evening of music for woodwind.
Well done to all involved!
