Last Friday evening saw the first performance of the academic year with the New Musicians’, Scholars’ and Award Holders’ Concert. It was a fantastic evening with an abundance of talent presented in a kaleidoscope of styles and genres.
This concert is perhaps the most daunting concert these pupils face - their first performance at King’s. It would be unfair to highlight individuals as all the performers did so brilliantly well. It was wonderful to hear such a variety of instruments including: voice, cello, violin, viola, piano, saxophone, flute and trumpet. I was particularly struck by the musical maturity of many of the performances.
My congratulations to all those who took part in what was an impressive first concert of the academic year. I look forward to hearing all the performers sing and play again later this year!
