The BTEC Hospitality pupils have been out and about visiting local businesses this past week! These trips have helped them with fulfilling the criteria required for their diverse courses. Both trips have left the pupils inspired by those who own and manage a range of hospitality offers.
On Wednesday the L6th Form were hosted by Bryony At The Chapel, she was able to give them an insight into managing and building teams and their customer service ethos. On Friday afternoon, the pupils gained an understanding of a very different sector of the industry by interviewing our Catering Manager Deborah. The pupils found out how Chartwells develop staff and build teams which can be flexible to caterer for all our needs.
Finally the U6th Form group travelled to The Stag’s Head Inn at Yarlington on Thursday as part of their Alcoholic Beverage unit. This units requires the pupils to gain an understanding of the storage, equipment and methods of service required in a public house. Gill and Christina were absolutely wonderful and able to give the pupils a real insight into the day to day lives of landlords. Christina was also able to discuss her career path since her degree at Bournemouth University. To top an outstanding visit, everyone enjoyed a superb lunch before returning to King's. Now to write up all their findings ready for the final submission! Albums from both trips can be seen below.
