This last week at King's has been a real hit for our Jazz musicians in the Music Department.

The Senior Jazz Quintet were kindly invited to play for Perrott Hill Prep School's anniversary last Friday. The band played with great awareness of the mood of the evening and how it changed, starting with smooth classics and ending with some energetic performances and solos from each member of the band. The entire evening was a great experience and success, with the Head of Music at Perrott being thoroughly impressed by the Quintet's performances.

On Tuesday this week the Music Department were pleased to host a jazz workshop with bassist Andy Robb and drummer David Ingamells (both professional musicians based in London). All King’s jazz ensembles had sessions over the afternoon allowing David and Andy to focus on each groups individual sound and how it could be developed. The afternoon was well a lot of fun and well received by all pupils involved. An album from the workshops can be seen below.
