Success for Alexina at the Final of the Springboard Future Chef Competition...
5th Form, Priory House pupil, Alexina, competed in another Regional Round of Springboard Future Chef, a competition that is judged by industry professionals. This was the Final round, with 2000 pupils who have competed in previous rounds!
Pupils had to cook a main meal and a dessert in 90 minutes, in a kitchen they have never cooked in before. Then plating and serving the dishes to the Chefs within the allotted time frame (very similar to MasterChef). Alexina produced a beautiful spicy cod dish, with pureed cauliflower and mango salsa. For dessert she presented a raspberry nougatine with pistachio cream. Alexina did amazingly well, thinking on her feet when faced with the challenges of using industrial equipment, meaning she couldn’t present the dishes as she wanted to. Well done to her, a fantastic experience.
"It was a really great experience with many difficulties throughout, but I am so happy with the outcome and achievement of being in the top 8 out of 2000 competitors, and I would completely recommend it to anyone thinking about entering for next year." - Alexina - 5th Form, Priory House
