King’s Spanish pupils enjoyed an excellent trip during the October Half-Term writes Louise Bray, head of Spanish.
The pupils were lucky enough to experience four glorious days of sunshine amid the dreaming spires of Salamanca; Spain’s equivalent to Oxford, with its ancient university and beautiful golden cathedrals (la Vieja y la Nueva), monuments and buildings. Intensive morning Spanish lessons were followed by activities such as salsa dancing, a trip up the Cathedral Tower, a paella evening, tapas tour and cooking lessons. Pupils were welcomed into the homes of Spanish families, where they enjoyed authentic Spanish food and the opportunity to practise their conversation skills. An album of the busy and rewarding trip can be viewed below.
