Dr Osborne outlines the merits of an excellent day of chemistry lectures.
Having taken King's pupils to see Tim Harrison (from Bristol University's School of Chemistry) perform one of his lecture demonstrations at Sherborne School last year, I was incredibly keen to ask Tim to deliver a lecture here at King's. I was not disappointed! Tim delivered his lecture entitled 'Gases in the Air' to the King's 3rd, 4th and some 5th Form pupils (who had not seen this talk last year), alongside 54 pupils from Sexey's School, and 107 pupils from Bruton Primary School. All the pupils spent a very enjoyable hour, watching Tim perform his Chemistry demonstrations, involving liquid nitrogen, oxygen foam, dry ice and a few explosions. A video of one of the lectures can be seen below.
