A fantastic time celebrating the European Day of Languages...
We had a fantastic time celebrating the European Day of Languages on Monday 26th September. We started off with dancing the Flamenco with our 3rd Formers. We then carried on with a carousel of activities, which included learning Italian and other languages with the 4th Formers. Then, the caterers prepared a selection of delicious European specialities for lunch, such as a French Coq au Vin (without any wine of course), a Spanish Paella, a Ukrainian Red Borscht, a Greek Salad, a Portuguese Chick Pea Salad, a Turkish Tabbouleh and for pudding, a delicious Italian Tiramisu.
After school, we had a Quiz on different cultures with the Juniors, with some European snacks such as Spanish Tortilla, French Pancakes and German Salami. And, finally, we finished off the day with a Poetry Reading Evening with our Sixth Form linguists. We are extremely lucky at King’s Bruton to be able to embrace different cultures.
