An illuminating Chemistry Symposium at Sherborne Girls School...
11 Sixth Form Chemistry pupils attended the Chemistry symposium on Monday evening, hosted by Sherborne Girls School. As has been the case for the previous three symposia, it was held online, but the quality of presentation on this occasion was more than enough to make up for this. We had presentations from students at many of the schools in the local area on a wide range of subjects including The Poisons of Agatha Christie, Alzheimer’s Treatments, Stinging Insects and Matter and Antimatter.
Our own Laila and Benjamin presented a well researched and engaging piece on the Chemistry of Taste, and how to synthesise flavours and detect them, and it was very well received, they did an excellent job.
An interesting illuminating evening was had by all.
