GCSE and A Level Drama pupils spent Friday afternoon exploring the devising process with Perry Johnson from the renowned theatre company, Frantic Assembly.
Frantic Assembly work regularly with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as having an excellent reputation for their own innovative shows. The four-hour session was physically challenging, and gave the pupils a valuable insight into the building blocks of devised theatre work. It was fascinating to see focused, imaginative explorations taking shape, and how fully attentive and engaged the pupils were throughout the afternoon. In the final half hour, A Level pupils presented their almost complete devised examination piece, in order to gain some final tips from Perry.
