On a Saturday afternoon affected by the weather, it was still great to see some excellent performances from our cricket, tennis and athletics teams.

Athletics

At the athletics meet at Millfield there were some exceptional performances which included personal best performances from Josh (triple jump), Zak (1500m), Milo and Florence (300m). Rory ran excellent hurdle races whilst Alex and Lily impressed in the 200m. Matilda, Fraser and Niko all threw well in the field, whilst the run of the day came from Lily in the senior girls relay, taking the team from 5th to 2nd in her leg.

Congratulations to the boys and girls English Schools’ Cup Athletics teams who have both qualified for the Regional B finals following their qualifier at Millfield on Wednesday.

Tennis

The girls’ 3rd VI tennis team recorded yet another victory with a 5-4 win vs Clayesmore as Liv and Indigo were named players of the match. The Girls' 2nd Team also won 9-0 in a dominant performance.

Cricket

In a week which was impacted heavily by the weather, Home fixtures against Warminster School were abandoned.

The 2nd XI travelled to Warminster and an accurate bowling display saw the hosts dismissed for just 50 inside 15 overs. In response, King’s scored quickly and got over the line with just 5 overs gone for the loss of one wicket. A strong 9 wicket victory,

The Junior U15Bs also managed to get the game on at Warminster and also elected to field. Restricting Warminster to 82 off their 20 overs. King’s built strong partnerships to win by 8 wickets. Willoughby and Wilf named Players of the Match.

Good luck to our 1st XI Boys’ who host Wellington School in the Third Round of the National School T20 on Thursday whilst the Junior U15As host Taunton School in Round 2 of the ECB National T20.

Equestrian

Ruby, Islay and Daisy competed at Moreton Equestrian Centre on Sunday in the NSEA 80cm One Day Event. They did very well and finished by winning the team event. This qualifies them for the Moreton Three Day Event to be held in September.
