On 25th February it will be 5 years since the Chapel Choir sang Choral Evensong at St Paul's Cathedral in celebration of our upcoming 500th Anniversary...
What an amazing occasion it was. The Choir numbered 50, and alongside pupils, the Choir was augmented with several Old Brutonians. The Service included the first public performance of a specially commissioned work by Alexander L’Estrange, a setting of the George Herbert text King of Glory, King of Peace.
The Chapel Choir thoroughly enjoyed singing at St Paul’s Cathedral with its fabulous acoustic, and it was wonderful to have a large congregation that filled much of the space under the dome of the Cathedral along with a full Quire. It has to be one of my very favourite memories whilst teaching at King’s.
