A well contested Sports Day saw the boys' and girls’ houses compete over a number of track and field events, writes Stuart hamilton, 2nd Director of Sport.
With the weather dial set on “scorcher”, it combined to produce what was a great afternoon of athletics. There were many highs and lows, along with a number of great performances. The Victor Ludorum trophies were won by:
- Pandora (Arion) - Junior Girls
- Esther (Arion) - Senior Girls
- Aiden (New) - Junior Boys
- Matthew (New) - Inter Boys
- Edward (Lyon) - Senior Boys
On the house front, Blackford House continued their dominance in the parlauf retaining their trophy, whilst Wellesley House won the girls' parlauf. The girls' Challenge Cup went to Priory House who won both the Senior Cup and Junior Cup along with sealing victory with a dominant performance in the relays to win the Relay Cup.
In the boy’s competition, New House won the Challenge Cup with a real consistent performance across juniors, inters and seniors. Old House juniors won the Junior Cup and Lyon retained the Senior Cup.
Overall, a big thank you to all that made it possible, but especially thanks must go to the athletes' efforts. It was a great occasion showing the spirit of the houses and ultimately the whole school community. An album from the afternoon along with a drone video can be viewed below.
