Rugby
Last week we had mid-week action in the NatWest Vase for the 1st XV & U15A’s.
The 1st XV took on Wellington in a hard-fought game. I was pleased with the performance and especially with the intensity in defence. We came up against a strong opposition who had a strong back line. Final Score 22-41. Player of the Match: Niko.
The U15A played against Gillingham in the first round of the NatWest Vase and lost 20-10.
Last weekend we had teams playing different opposition:
The 1st XV played in a triangular against Clifton and Marlborough. It was great to see some of our 1st XV fringe players in action. We won both games 26-0. Player of the Day: Will.
The U16s played a triangular with Clifton and Downside. King’s won against Downside 24-0 with strong performances from Leo and Sid. King’s then played Clifton and won 26-0. Player of the Match: Levi. Thank you to Mr Jeffrey for refereeing in fantastic spirit.
The U14s got their first win of the season against Leweston. Player of the Match: Otto.
The 1st XV against Wellington and the U14A against Leweston get the rugby performances of the week.

Football
The King's Senior Boys football team bounced back with a cracking performance against Millfield just two days after a heavy defeat to Downside. The boys showed fight and mental fortitude to stay compact throughout the match and produced some moments of high quality, only going down to two very late goals after Tommy had equalised early in the second half. Excellent performances across the pitch, but special mention must go to both Louis and JJ who both excelled in new positions.
Final result: Millfield 3-1 King's.
Players of the Match: JJ and Louis.
